I went to the 06 and 07 in the NEC, the 07 was much bigger than the 06, think they opened up another hall or something as there were quite a few more stands and more of the physical shows/events were in a hall of their own.

Looks the same this year, hoping for a bargain alpinestars jacket, sadly though I'm picky as I know which one I want but here's hoping

Just how much of a saving can you make on gear bought at the NEC show then?

It's a good chunk off, it's very good IF you want to buy something and you just want a good price. But it's not the kind of rock bottom prices that would make you buy something just for the hell of it (i.e. "May as well - only costs £x"). Dunno if that makes sense lol.

It isn't the NEC, but at the Ally Pally in '06 I picked up my first set of gear - leathers, boots, helmet, worth £1000, for about £660.

I reckon prices might have a bit more downward pressure this year, in the current market...

Yeah some bargains, mostly I've been after helmets when I've been, first year got a Nitro Plater race rep, for £60 with a rucksack and cap, got home and saw some places selling the same helmet for £180! (and last year some stalls selling just the rucksack for £30 heh. Obviously depends on if the helmets fit etc but fortunately I have a scrooge gene which gives me a nitro shaped head
but then R&G are there with a stand and signs saying no show discount, so its not always cheaper but if you have a hankering for new stuff then its worth a look.

Always good for a little haggling too as it is more like a market.

I fear its going to get a lot more enticing this year now I have started modding my SV a little more, last year I was happy enough just to have a bike so was kitting myself out but now i'm wanting huggers and crash bungs and tail tidies heheh.

Thanks, that's good to know. I'm after a paddock stand and some new boots, maybe some other bits and pieces. Looking forward to it!

IIRC pyramid are usually there, as are powerbronze, I'd imagine there are others too but I remember seeing them as I was looking at screens last time.

I am going on the sunday 30th, taking the wife and kids so i am hoping it will be a good day. I have never been before so really looking forward to it.

I am after a hugger, belly pan and maybe a tailtidy but knowing me i will end up buying loads of stuff that i don't really need.

Think i might wear my SV t-shirt with newts 924 on the back, so if you see me come and say hello. i don't bite (the wife might).

Is anyone else going on the sunday?

Does anyone know if you have to pay extra to watch the shows that are on like the thundergames or are they included with the price of the tickets?

They're usually included with the price of the ticket.

Hmm, not when I was last there , I've seen both the thunderdome games and the wall of death, both were extra, £3-4 I think for thunderdome and £2 perhaps for the wall of death. good shows though
