I don't like traditional RPGs much. I've never been into Orcs/barbarians/what have you fantasy settings. I have, however, always enjoyed the fallout games. Very nice surreal humour that somehow adds to, rather than detracts from the gritty struggle of life in a post-nuclear world. It's not really a traditional RPG, neither is it really an FPS. The game that sprung to mind most in terms of comparison was the original Deus Ex. They've managed to make a fantastically detailed, yet vast game world and you could spend hours just exploring and not doing any quests. The choice/free will element is excellent and I can really see myself playing through it a second time in order to make different choices, because it would be so different.

This is easily in my top 10 games of all time and I play it far more than even GTA IV (which I bought at the same time).

I was the same, when I had no weapons, no armour and had just started I thought the game was abit crap and couldnt get into it......then I played it a little bit longer and started meeting supermutants and got to the Citadel.......the game is just amazing and you have probably only see 2% of the entire world map if you have only got to Megaton.
Ok I shall have another attempt this weekend.
