I think in most businesses; if you're ****, you get 'promoted' to the health and safety department.

(I know there are H&S people on here - I know you're not all the same - thankfully!)

hehehe. Or 'Human Remains'.

One thing I learnt, is that they HAVE to find something. We had one inspector who wanted to shut the shop because of a tiny bit of rust on a light fitting...

In a warehouse.

You just can't win.

Yep I'd agree with that.

I've never met an inspector with an ounce of common sense either.

The datacentre floor where I work had a loose floor tile. It was rocking by 2 or 3 mm when you walked on it. You'd think the world had ended with the emails I got back to today. I got moaned at for not reporting it, I didnt report it because its not a trip hazard, the floor isnt unstable i.e it takes the weight of a Full height SAN storage rack no problems. Yet the health and safety guy was worried about it collapsing if somebody walked over it...

H & S is one of the reasons my dad shut his building business down and took early retirement. He couldnt be doing with the over zealous inspectors and reams and reams of red tape...

I'm just watching this - it's very sad but so true.

Our H&S here asked us to put a message on peoples PC's telling them to take a break........

What's next one reminding them to breathe?
