Ahh! this is true but won't get it in a shop anyway, a sign company is the 1st port of call or there is a DIY version called "sticky stuff remover" i used this a lot in my teens!

Looks to me like it would very easily polish out.
Use some very heavy grain G3 compound, then get finer and finer, finish off with a good sealent and wax. You could probably even wet/dry it and re-laquer it if you wanted to be really adventurous, either way it would come out. A proffesional detail could also sort it for next to nothing.
