You'd have to be nuts to just trust the sucker, I drilled holes in mine and cable tied it to the top yoke (spare mount off eBay). Looks quite smart.

Just chuck it in a tankbag and use headphones. Means you keep your eyes on the road

I don't think the TomTom Rider is actually fully waterproof, think it is shower proof.

I've tried sticking a sat nav on the rev counter on my curvy with the suction mount. OK it's a rubbish mount, but as soon as I was riding the sat nav wouldn't stop bouncing up and down, to the extent that whenever possible, I was riding with one hand on the sat nav (was a straight road with no junctions). Then I came to a bendy bit so I had to have both hands on the bars and the road surface wasn't completely smooth.
Let's just say I'm glad my reactions were super quick that day! Sat Nav fell off the rev counter, luckily I managed to catch it in my left hand Not doing that ever again, although I could really do with having a sat nav on my bike (briefly looked into getting a RAM mount, but I don't think they make them for my sat nav )

It's a Road Angel Navigator 6000. Not listed by RAM
