Unless you specifically have a burning desire to ride a chopper (which is only permissible because you're planning to be in the US when you do it) I'd have thought, bearing in how much fun you seem to have riding your trials bike, that something like THIS might be more appealing to you ?

I know that they're using their own bikes - but from what I understand from other articles about the region, hiring bikes is not a problem

Now if you were to go for this option I could be tempted to join you

my trials bike is total differant from the big enduros (although i have had enduro bikes)

i might get banned for this, but i have always wanted a chopper, or to ride one at least.

i guess it would depend on where and what type of roads we were to go on, i would not rule out doing it on an enduro, that way i guess you could do a bit of off roading,
i was just thinking it would be cool on a chopper

i have not put much thought into the whole idea, its just somthing i would like to do

I realise that Trials bikes are different from the big enduros - I was just referring to the off-road aspect of both !!

As for getting banned for wanting to ride a chopper - IMO providing it is done where choppers make sense (North America & Australia are the only 2 that come to mind) ie a place that has straight roads hundreds of miles long where you just want to lay back, put your feet up, relax and enjoy the view (if applic) then I see no problem. I lived in the US for a few years back in the 80's and borrowed HD's (never a proper chopper though) quite often and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I've never done it on a harley but I spent 10 days riding an R6 over there just over a year ago- I did Deals Gap and I would recommend it to anyone and the surrounding area! Roads are fab!

I'd also like to do the harley experience one day!
