No wonder they were upset
Why were they upset?

Person (A) Upset ---> Upsets Person (B) ---> Person (B) performs Action on (A) ---> Justification for (A) to be upset in the first place?

If (A) wasn't upset in the first place the chain of events wouldn't have transpired....

Why? If they are going to stereotype people based on 1 persons interaction with them, nothing you can say or do will change that.

It is the same on here, we generalize car drivers to be {cagers} and give them the generic stereotype, rather than it being a member of the public in a car/bike/horse/cycle etc...

You don't ride and think, wow I was cut up by a car, thus I must seek revenge on all car drivers, you just take note the guy driving happened to be a d*ck, not that all car drivers are d*cks.

berlin mate all i'll say is steer clear of mrs giggles she WILL do horrible painful damage to you if she see's this
i will try to hide this for two reasons
1 she may be small but she's evil
2 im here ur not so i'll get it instead
they were d1cks but (theres that word again) bad things can happen when horses get spooked ive seen it , it aint pretty trust me, if it were my mrs she has the common sence to thank a decent biker for what you did not scream abuse but (there it is again) some mothers do have em

crikey...

you sound like a right ****tard mate

shake your head, give them the coffee beans if it's personally offended you that much, but risking people's lives because you're a bit ****ed off is ridiculous and stupid

besides, if you can't slalom between the **** piles you obviously can't ride properly

It is advised to ride two abreast in order to prevent vehicles from squeezing past to close/make them wait until there is no traffic oncoming. Also often a sensible older horse will often be used to shield a youngster from traffic.

Berlin - they may have well been asking to stop completely so that they could walk past you rather than you go past them, as one of the horses may have been particularly nervous. Just a thought.

That was far more restrained than I was expecting. ArtyLady, you're letting the side down. More effort next time please.

I do not in anyway agree with what Berlin has done but if the horse is a nervous type why let it out on the road?

Nervous horse = danger to other road users as well as its rider. Not sensible IMO.

Of course we don't know that any of the horses Berlin approached was a nervous one but if we treat them all as 'twitchy' it'll be safer for everyone.

Being on a horse that has bolted is a terrifying thing to experience - imagine your bike with the throttle stuck on full blast, no brakes and no steering and that's a bit what it feels like. Except on a horse you don't have as much protective gear on.

Horses, like lorry drivers have a big blind spot so bikers coming up behind them can scare them. If they can see you at all you are a person with a giant head making odd noises on a funny looking machine.

Yes they are daft animals, so you have to be patient, but at least they don't pull out on you at T junctions.

Because sometimes the only way to cure a nervous horse is "exposure therapy"

Very sensible last comment Jester
