ok try this go into a crowd like that at a protest and try being in there position they are ALOT more of them than there is of the officers, he was trying to defend him self from the other protesters and she came running back at him shouting and waving her and turned to push her out the way but hit her face ( back of his hand or not )

In the same way MPs are not breaking the rules when they rape the taxpayer for their allowances on second homes.

There are rules everywhere in life. That doesn't make any action within the rules correct. People in positions of power get relaxed rules as they're expected not to abuse them.

any way it could have been an accident it could have been on purpose but you dont know for sure, you can always take a stab and say he hit her but it might not be true.

See, is it just me that thinks its wrong for that to be the case.

Only Violence should be met with violence, and it should always end up in an arrest.

Otherwise cops can just "self-certify" that it was necessary and proportional and walk away from it.

It should be as serious for a cop to his a civilian as it is the other way around.

Otherwise we just get Summary Justice in the form of Police beatings.

Or maybe it IS time for a Justice Department like in Judge Dredd....

Quite frankly the police arent hard enough ffs! Before the PACE act circa 1984 was brought in, people were actually afraid of the police. which is the way it is suppost to be, they are meant to be a deterent force - like france for instance. You wouldnt mess with the Gendarmerie would you!

People moan about the increase in knife crime etc and blame the police for not resolving the crime problems yet you expect them to be all nice and cuddley when dealing with a roit. Yes there are bent coppers that mess up, and yes before PACE some unwarranted beatings took place....but honestly i'd rather it was like that than it is now. I certainly wouldnt have crossed the police then

The woman should count herself lucky she lives in a society where all she gets for her agressive behaviour is a backhander across the chops.

Search out the copper and give him a payrise and a heavier baton for next time.
