Erm, you might find its a bit quicker than that with SC pro's 1500 miles total out of a rear is *very* good going!

They'll be snapped up on Ebay Quick smart if you decide to change them now. You'll get 50-75 quid or even more for the set depending on wear which should help towards the new ones.

National tyres or you local bike show will see you right for new tyres. Shop around a bit for prices as they vary greatly.

The best bet for new tyres is your local bike shop. Hopefully they'll have a decent selection on the shelf and enough experience not to break anything when they fit them.

Some independent tyre places also fit bike tyres, but they will probably have to order them in for you. If you aren't taking the wheels off yourself you might ask 'em to take care when replacing the speedo sensor. It's easily broken on the SV.

To get an idea of relative tyre prices I used blackcircles.co.uk. Including fitting they came out within a few quid of my local bike shop, so I went local. But it's always worth making a few phone calls.

Whereabouts are you in Liverpool? As others have said, National Tyres will do them, but not sure how many bike tyres they go through. I'd be more inclined to use a local bike shop, there's a few in Liverpool, Orrell Park Motorcycles is a good one in Bootle, with loads of helpful, friendly advice.

I'm pretty certain I saw bike tyres being sold at National Tyres in Crosby, try ringing them as their prices are often competitive.

Hiya Dean and a big welcome to the site.

I`m in Liverpool too and I know there`s a national tyres in Crosby... there is a sign outside saying motorbike tyres so it might be worth a phone call. There`s also orrel park motorcycles in Orrel park.. John the owner there is very helpful so again thats another option.

My SV had diablo`s on it too when I first bought it.... after changing those tyres to Avon Storms it was like riding a different bike and my confidence soared. I think there`s a guy near Stoke somewhere that a few of the members have used and find his prices excellent but that would obv mean a little ride out.

I had my tyres fitted at Buckley tyres in Mold so if you fancied a little ride out and the chance to wear them in on the way home you could try them.

Best of luck

I'm in the market for new tyres too and have set my mind on Avon Storms. Just phoned Buckley Tyres (in Mold - so they'll be pretty much scrubbed in by the time you get home), they're after £200 for a set of Storms, ride in ride out service, valves balanced etc, whereas National Tyres in Crosby want £70 for the front and £95 for the rear, but they can only fit them to loose wheels and can't balance them. So for and extra £35 at Buckley tyres you're getting a proper service where you don't have to mess about taking wheels off etc.

Orrell Park M/C want £220 supply/fit or £40 to fit to loose wheels, again, if you bought the tyres on-line, you'd still end up paying over £200 and have to mess about taking wheels off.

If you find anywhere cheaper locally doing a full fitting service for Avon Storms, please let us know!

Update: B&C Tyres in Farnworth (again, a decent ride home to get the tyres scrubbing in) - Avon Storms £193 ride-in/ride-out service.

At the risk of taking too much of an interest in this.....just found a mobile fitter (Manchester based), who will do them for £190 fitted and balanced and he comes to you!

BikeTyre Services - pm me if you want their mobile number.

I think you mean Steve at F & B Tyres

01270 760795

In a place called Wheelock (just outside Sandbach), he did DaveP a pair of Storms for £180 fitted, ride in/out. So maybe give him a try, I use him when I can, but it's a bit of a trek for me.
