I'd hope they know thier onions.
OK I was going on the idea that a harder spring will rebound harder thus needing more damping to keep it under control when you get a rapid extension. But if that's what they reckon then fair do's.

Thats exactly what you are doing when you turn the damping up, harder spring = turn damping up to suit.

This I know. But adjusters only affect the low speed bleed, high speed is affected by loads of stuff, preload of shim stack, shim stiffness, oil weight, nitrogen pressure, shape of piston.

I'm pretty sure they're adjustable for high and low speed compression and rebound/

But you really need to change the valving of a shock to suit the spring.
i would agree with you on that one yorkie_chris, you do not only change springs to suit different weights.
