You can get that result with the clear ones - just have to take your time and use the hairdryer. Last two tanks - I removed the tank and did it inside - far easier than doing it on the bike

LOL - dude if you think some little rubber knobbly bits will rip your textiles apart, than wtf would happen to them if you fell off the bike!?

I'm quite interested in the leather ware side of things! Read some stuff on GixerJunkies about it happening but they have supposedly being redesigned form when it was a big issue. I guess there are lots of variables though (how tight you grip the tank for starters.)

Let us know how you get one Quiff!

Yeah I know what you mean (didn't really think of it like that) but with people saying they wear leathers I assumed that they would wear textiles that little bit more so it to be an issue???

Ok heres the pics..

not too bad.. deliberated for ages whether to trim them and just have below the white stripe decal .. in the end moved htem forward a bit and covered it completely- cut out some of the nobbles to add the velcro for my kriega tank converter and and made it a bit bigger so my autocom connector can come up from under the seat and velcro on to there.. ...once kriega bag is added and I know where to tighten to then the excess on the straps will be cut off..all neat n tidy , tidy n neat

In my experience - they don't wear your leathers. What may happen is the colour on them might rub off, but again only very slightly. How tight and how often plays a big part.

Like I said before, because people have stuck stomp grip (or tech specs) on their tank, they then feel then need to grip it constantly. It is only really beneficial under acceleration and braking to stop you sliding back and forth in the seat (which is exaggerated with a pillion so definite benefits there). What it won't do is stop your wrists from aching or my personal favourite "helps you grip the tank when you hang off!"
