I think you'll just have to bite the bullet hindle, sorry m8. At 26 on TPFT for my sv650sport 09 reg it was 250-350 quid, fully comp 700, thats 1yr NCB 1 small crash and SP30 3 points on license.

Look at it this way at my age now if you get NCB and no more points you'll be laughing!

My first year with my bike was £1300 FC. Well I changed part way through first year so I didnt pay that but it would have been that for the whole year if you get what I mean. I was 20 with 0 NCB but no claims.

My insurance is £137 fully comp, previous bike nicked and claimed for, and 3 points from 3 or 4 ago still being admitted to.

I'd happily pay 800 quid if it meant I could go back to being 20-odd though

Didn't someone already reply to that and say that the dyno printout needs to have your VIN and Reg on it?

But sorry if I derailed

I would try and get to the bottom of this.

I would ask to speak to the manager and explain that you were under the impression that you only need the proof in the event of a claim/accident and that proof wasn't needed to take out insurance. Worth a try.

I have never had to show my restriction papers (two different insurance companies) when I was restricted. I had a no fault accident and again no investigation of the bike no requests for paperwork no nothing to do with restriction.

I know you've tried everywhere but I'm with Carole Nash they seem v reasonable and didn't ask.

Try motorcycle direct for insurance, they never wanted to see my docs about restriction. Nor did MCE.
