I think if she ever needs help in this way, that the ambulance service (if equally moronic) should refuse the right to take her*....see how she likes it. Stupid ffin cow.

*of course this is only said as a heated reply, i wouldn't actually want that to happen

So if you got FPN for that, and decided to go to court. Would the court take into account the circumstances?

Our criminal justice system went soft years ago. People do stupid stuff like this because they know they can get away with it. They have no respect for either other people or the law. We are living in one sick society.

Nothing happened! why can't they have some fun! the poor driver has already been banned & is potentially facing jail

The only reason he should go to jail is for being criminally stupid to drive past a police station, although admittedly, the main road wasn't a bright idea either.

This is a good point.Of course the court would strike the offense if you could prove the circumstances, but thats the point----You would have to prove yourself innocent. That would be very difficult so most people are reluctant to break the rules to let an ambulance get past.Who can blame them,I dont.
The case in Leicester is totally different of course, where ignorant chav deliberately obstructed the ambulance and should have done time for it.

On another note though.............

I saw someone in a new aston martin the other day.......they would not bump up the kerb to let an ambulance by.........which left me thinking would I ?

Brand new £100k+ car with £2500 each wheels......would you bump up the kerb and potentially wreck your car, because lets face it no one it going to pay for the damage.

Same situation with red lights, if you go through a red light to let an emergency vehicle by then you will still get the 3 points and £60 fine regardless of how much you fight it.....so would you do it.

I sure as heck wouldn't...

Anyway uhm, yeah it's just silly, this whole thing.. what a stupid cow!11

Re. proving it, it would either be a police car, or a camera... in which case CCTV anyway.

But, if it's been tried, then the law is an ass.

Wouldn't even hesitate about crossing the red to get out of the way of the emergency services, in case they're on their way to something for my benefit.

That said, my car isn't worth as much as a stretcher in an ambulance...

I'm pretty sure this is the sort of thing that defines mitigating circumstances, but you'd have to be willing to go to court and try and get records out of the ambulance service about where they were and when.
