I know how you feel, I used to rescue birds that were constantly being hit by buses and cars near my school or falling out their nests.
I was playing with one of the baby pigieons, holding it in my hands while it flapped its wings thinking it was flying, when it hopped out my hands and landed on its head killing it ...felt so guilty for years!, but as said, it happens. best bet is to keep an eye on it and take it to a rescue in the worst case scenario..just don't do it the way I did it unless you want people to think you are mental =p 1am, baby pigeon fallen out its nest under a bridge, same one I had seen about 9pm that day only its curled up under a barrier and I can't keep it at my flat. Put it in a "Teddy bear Factory" box that I got a bear for my Girlfriend and walked into town to the nearest rescue. Stopped to ask a woman for directions to the Vets, she looks at me, looks at the teddy bear box..looks at me...and backs away pretty sharpish =p |

I think you did the right thing.
Handled it as little as possible and got it back in the nest. If tha parents are still feeding it then that is a good sign (means it hasnt been rejected). You werent to know that the bird was there so dont feel bad ![]() A few years ago I was walking along a road with matt and we spotted a bird in the middle of the road. It was a little thing - probably a sparrow? I thought it had broken its wing because it made no attempt to fly away when I approached it. It just sat there. I picked it up and put it on some grass then left it and when I returned, it had gone. |
