JT wasn't black flagged for the jump start - he was flagged for ignoring the ride through penalty. No idea why he didn't come in. Silly boy.

Great result a bunch of riders - Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Stoner and Hayden (especially Hayden...good lad).

It seemed to be the weekend to fall off though, in BSB too.

I thought that Stoner was just whining about something as a cover just incase he didn't perform. Its obviously not the case with the gap opening the way it did during the race, and his condition as he got off the bike.

Credit to him and Lorenzo for even gettign out of bed.

I think JT wrote out his own P45 with that debacle. He can't say that the team has let him down given that he nicked Edwards engineer and had the boss setting up his bike for the last race.

Anyone know why he didn't come in? Did he just not see the pitboard sign? I haven't seen any post-race comments about this.

Good race though!

Yep , my thoughts too, if he had just carried on he would have got some points at least, very strange he didnt come in, thing is there,s no saying he,ll go back too WSB either , he may do a Guintolli and go into BSB.

Missing the pit board 3 times seems a bit much, and he saw the black flag, maybe we will found out from the man himself at some point in the near future.

Gotta larf.

U talking that Hayden had a good result.

Well...last year he was fifth too on the repsol and beaten by Dovi on the Scott...had a face like thunder...gets 5th this year and he is re-born.

Strange a year makes.

JT...those intials not long for the MotoGP forum...but Edwards has another year.

I think Hayden and Edwards are going to be safe in their respective teams. The US is a big market, and having an american rider is no bad thing from a marketing pov.

I agree. Expectations are lowered and acceptable standards follow. 5th might look better than 12th or 15th, but being miles behind a completely knackered team-mate is not a good result. I'm not sure Hayden will ever reach the pace of Stoner, and it's still something of a mystery to me how Hayden managed to win the world championship. TBH I'll be shocked if he ever adds to his 3 GP victories. Ducati may keep him on, but it will only be because he has a contract and they've got Stoner for winning races/titles.

JT on the other hand is headed out of there. Even if he turns it around and get close to Edwards towards the end of the year it will be too late by then. He's really made himself look like a chump with the whole engineer stealing stuff that went on too.

edit: PS, what was wrong with the other Laguna Seca thread?

From JT's website:

There's not much I can say really other than it was a tough weekend. I feel like the jump start was pretty harsh. I knew it was close but I didn't think I'd jumped the start and that early in a 32-lap race I'm not looking at my pitboard. I was just concentrating on catching the guy in front and the first thing I realised that I'd been penalised was when I saw the black flag and my number. Obviously if I'd known I'd jumped the start then I would have come in but I've watched the TV replay and you can't see anything. I didn't gain any places either so in my opinion it's pretty harsh. It's a setback but I've just got to get on with it and bounce back in Germany.
