I bought my bike from Cupars and had it serviced there and was disappointed with them, they claimed over the phone it would be fairly quick so I turned up to find they'd booked it in for the wrong time and it was going to take most of the afternoon. No courtesy bike offered and as it was pouring with rain outside I ended up hanging around the garage for two to two and a half hours but despite the place being empty the sales guys didn't even say a single word to me. I guess now they've had their sale they couldn't care less, it was certainly a stark contrast to before the purchase of the bike.

I'd go with the quality of work more than anything else, and in my experience that means Saltire. Not cheap, not always very good communication but they're safe hands. Not to say that Cupar's aren't of course.

i quite like the 'no hassle' attitude of Cupar and Saltire. unlike some other bike shops where you feel like a 'vultures meal'. if you are interested then ASK about it, their no pressure sales attitude is great... as for general chit chat i've always found both shops to be good.. never had a problem with either of them... personally i would rather have to go and ask about something than be hounded around a shop...

teeeheeehhheee, the old phone back, to be honest i think most if not all shops are like that now... saltire are terrible for that, my mate ordered a tyre from (cash up front) them and said they would give him a phone when it came in, 3 week later and still no call. i think its the only thing i can fault saltire on, they have done the same to me.

Jeff at Saltire is a menace for that, "Yeah, I'll give you a call"... It'd be better if they just were up front and said "Nah, phone us back, we'll forget"

Yeah, I had to get Calum involved in a quotation for parts before I could get a reply out of Geoff, weeks after my first email and two email reminders later.
