Battery.Id still send it back to the dealer though.Bikes sit in dealers for months or even years and the batteries are not maintained.Hence they go flat as soon as the bike goes out to a customer.Make them replace it or give you £50 to get a new one.

Does the bike have an alarm or imobiliser fitted?

If you store a bike with these things fitted without using something like an optimate charger the battery will die very quickly.

This still applies.Dealer delivered bike to you with a flat battery. How long has it been flat, and what damage has that done to the battery?I bet you paid top £ for the bike and I also bet it will soon need a new battery.Id at least get the battery checked and if it doesnt come up as in good condition get the dealer to give you a new one.

My dads an electrical and communications engineer for Network Rail so he looks after batteries. Got him to check it out for me. He said he would test it for me. Saves me a trip anyway. But your right, that if you have a bike and the battery is flat, get it checked. The last thing you want is for, lets say your alarm to sap the last bit of juice from it while your out some ware, then find out its flat.
