No its ok ,thanks for the offer though Im ex RAF meself, I got out in the 80,s though when it was still regarded as a decent career, I just dont remember ever working with anyone from the RAF reserve that all and now they are advertising on the telly I just wondered what the regulars thought of the weekend warriors, I was also suprised to see on the website you could enlist up to the age of 50 or 55 if you had any past military experience, btw the oldest serviceman to die in Afghanistan was a 53 yrs senior aicraftsman with the RAF Regiment, thanks for the replies anyway

Probably just exactly the same as Special Constables....but they dont get paid for anything except their petrol to and from the station.

the reserves are regarded well within the RAF, unlike the pongos (army) who do not like the fact someone off the street working a lot less than half their time is actually equal or better than them.
