Possibly, but thats alot of money to shell out on a vehicle. In your position I am and would be just as picky...

It took me nearly 9 months of looking at Golfs, before I found one that I was happy with, I nearly bought two others, but I walked away as I knew that in my heart they werent as good as they could have been and it would have niggled away at me once I had parted with the cash...

Thats not the one with the dodgy turbo that spins up and blows the engine is it?
Personally, having owned a few interesting cars over the years,I wouldnt bother now.Car is now for getting from A to B in reasonable comfort and economy.I get on the Kwacker for my "extras".

The stuff in this and t'other threads on here about turbo problems would be enough to put me off buying one...

Why buy a car that has what looks like a known, well documented problem on it... especially when from looknig at Autotrader they look over priced for what they are as well...

I believe (but I couldn't bet money on it!) that specific problem my car suffered was solved with a new ECU map and a new Garrett turbo on 150bhp cars built from Nov 2003 (mine was registered in October). The new shape 2.0d cars are 163bhp and I would hope that problem is fixed. I still wouldn't buy another BMW because of all the other build quality issues I had and the terrible customer service from BMW dealers and I don't just say that because of just dealings with the turbo failure, it was terrible for routine servicing from the day I bought the car.
