...My cover renews on 1 March... I tried these people and for me they are considerably pricier than the Bike Insurer - about 45% in fact.

Last time I checked, The Bike Insurer wasn't the cheapest, but now it's £50 lower than the Falcon (it's also included in the bike insurer search).
Nice

The renewal notice came today. £202 to include a broker fee. Thought 'self, that's a bit high'.

Sent following email:

Dear Adelaide

I've received your renewal quote and I'm disappointed. You say that you have trawled the market and this is a competitive quote, but a quick check of the bike insurer shows that I can do much better.

The cheapest quote is through a-quote, at £148.92. And this with a lower compulsory excess of £300. Riding other bikes and overseas riding is included, and it's for Class 1 business insurance - with a protected no claims. At present I have a named rider, Karl, on the policy but I don't need him so I have removed him.

I've been with you for a number of years and always had excellent service so I'm asking you if you'll match the price, the excess, and the no claims protection. If you can't then I very much regret (and I do regret, it's been a good relationship) that I can't ignore a saving of £55 and the other policy features, and I'll be leaving you.

Regards

Edward Austin

And had this reply:

Mr. Austin

I have referred this to our sales manager. We are happy to match this price of £148 including class 1 business use and protected bonus. This quote also includes riding other bikes and up to 60 days foreign travel.

We can also match the excess of £300

I have attached your revised quote. I tried to contact you on your home number but it is not available.

Kind Regards,

Shaun McElhinney

Just tried them for the new bike, they were more expensive, by quite a bit for me.
