Forget glasses....... contact lenses are the way forward.
And no-one calls you "four eyes" ![]() |

Reactions are useless behind a visor (or car windscreen for that matter) so I wouldn't bother with those for that reason. If you go for the 2 for £75 deal, and extra few quid will get you some sunglasses as the second pair. |

IF you get some nice titanium frame they very light, flexible and impotantly thin so you dont feel them at all under your helmet.

The reason I'm on about the £25 ones is that he said I would rarely use them. But I feel I would need them when driving/riding.
I asked about contact lenses and he said that because I won't need them all the time it isn't worth it. So reactions don't work with a lid? That's a bit crap |

![]() I tried them and couldnt get on with them (ask VT how close I was to gouging out my eyes in soho one night). According to my optician, contacts that are close to the eyes natural prescription are not as good as glasses (or as versatile). I got so fed up with carrying the little container, not being able to take them off/out like my glasses etc. |

I have been a spec wearer for near 50yrs now, during the last 3 years I have been using/trying the varying types of contact lense as well as glasses varifocals.
May I suggest that before you commit to glasses you FREE-TRIAL contact lenses from ****savers? My own preference now is contact's on the bike and glasses when I cant be bothered to put in lenses. The other advantage with contact lenses is that you have an eye-health check every 6 months at NO added cost. JOHN |

When I started wearing glasses I was told I would not use them much, but the difference with them on made so much difference I found myself wearing them all the time.
Had my eyes lasered now, not sure I would really recommend it though unless your prescription is quite high.

I have had Specsavers straight arm glasses for the last 6/7 years. They were in the two for one offer so I got a normal pair and a sunglasses pair. And when I started riding 3 years ago they turned out to be brilliant with my lid on. The straight arm means that they slide on after my lid is secure without poking in my ears or making the ear fold back over them and causing them to ache. They also have the sprung arms so they will take a lot of abuse before they bend/break.
