Hovis is a legend. I say "is" because I am sure that for years to come even newbies on the site will hear about him and his wild ways!
Everyone on here was touched by Hovis. Whether he was lighting the touch paper, sitting back and watching the fireworks, or giving advice to those of us who lacked in confidence, he had something for everyone. I was aware he had been through some tough times in his life. I was also aware that he had come through them and become an incredible man. He lived his life to the full and encouraged others to do so at every opportunity. Many people let the bad times overcome them, lie down to them and wallow in it. Not Hovis. The death of any person is always an excruciating loss to someone. Mother, Father, Son, Daughter, Friends, although it seems to me that the death of Hovis was a particularly tragic and painful one. Now don't get me wrong, I am not comparing Hovis to a saint or anything here. Hovis was an ordinary bloke who lived life the way he wanted to but he was a light in a sometimes dark place! I hope people don't fee that, being a relatively new member on the site, I am speaking out of turn, but I am only saying what I see and what I think about Hovis. I hope his legacy and his message will live on, and I think the message is a pretty simple one. Live life to the full guys, savour everyday and fight for what you think is right. Sleep well Hovis. You better have a beer waiting for each and everyone of us when we arrive! |

Nice that you good folks were thinking about Hovis even though you couldn't be there in person.
The org is full of good people. |
