I liked my HJC but went for a Shoei XR1000 after my off. The Shoei was a great price and a nice fit, however it's very noisy, even with the whisper kit.
Then again, I've debaffled and stubbied my zorst since, so maybe it's just that ![]() |

Just got a Lazer Daytona. Helmet is fine apart from the visor shuts itself if I accelerate too fast. I normally ride with it cracked open 1/2 ".

I've just changed my Raid II for a Schuberth R1. The Raid II is very good, but the Schuberth is much better. It's quiet, has a much better field of vision and has an integrated sun visor

Got a shark S500 air, has fixed vents on the top so is noisey as foook, not too impressed with the chin ven as it's a flip forward rather than a slide vent (like the ols shark) so shuts at xxmph

Indeed, and as a few people have said, go to somewhere like J&S that has a big range and try a load of lids on.
For my last upgrade i went to the shop intending to buy a shoei/arai because "thats what you wear". After trying a few on i tried an AGV, a brand i hadn't considered and it was like oooh, thats nice. So i ended up with an AGV Ti-Tech purely because thats what felt best, didn't choose by what i'd seen in the mags. |

If you like Shoei's now is the time to buy one.
They have 2 new models out and you can pick up an Xspirit or rf1000 for 1/3 to 1/2 off if you shop around on the net. I just picked up an Xspirit for nearly half off (Luthi replica) this week. (can't wait to try it out!) ![]() ![]() ![]() If you Arai person....not to worry. Arai is all set to launch it's own new line of helmets as soon as all the Shoei hoopla in the press quiets down. Then you can nick one of their current models at closeout prices. I am well chuffed on the new lid....especially at that price! ![]()

If you can wait, then the NEC show is on at the end of the month. You'll be able to pick up a quality helmet at knock down prices. I bought my Arai there for £180, love it, fits my bonce perfectly.
Was going to get a Schuberth, but wasn't at all comfy. Trying on helmets is the only way to see if they're comfy, and fit well, but you'll only know if if its good in the event of a spill.
