Don't know if this was the brand but it was like the cargol kit

Don't know if you can just find the keys on their own for cheaper.
As to how they were in use - much easier than sticky string (if you find them difficult

Lasted long enough to get the tyre professionally repaired (compared with me personally being happy to leave sticky string as a permanent repair)

I have one of these kits and normally carry one of the "keys" on both the CCM and the Superduke as they have no room for a proper kit, it's a "get out of jail" thing and I wouldn't like to go far or at any speed on it, but it should get you home, unlike a sticky string repair, which I'd be happy to do a couple of hundred miles if needed.
