He knew exactly what he was doing, he thought he was a big man and did it infront of someone with a camera taking pictures yet he still didnt stop....

He obviously has no respect for anyone and therefore nobody should have respect for him.

I'd give him life in jail. That would deter others!

right on the poppys to, definitely aiming-bet he thought 'great, someone's taking a picture I can show all my dorky mates on facebook'. Which incidently kind of did happen, loads of his dorky mates were posting on his facebook wall 'legend','epic', and various other generic overused terms.

Totally disrespectful and mindless.......... he should be taken to the site of the DDay landings to be shown what those poppies represent.

Drunk or not he knew what he was doing and he deserves to lose his place at uni in my opinion as I feel our servicemen and women sacrified their lives to give him that place in uni and to build a better future for him and the likes of him.

He`s disgusting!

I very much doubt that he did know what he was doing.

Also who ever took the photos was probably encouraging him to do it for the camera, only to then stitch him up for it.

****ing on a war memorial is a dispicable thing to do, I doubt he needs to be told that. The lesson he needs to learn is not that ****ing on war memorials is bad, but rather what too much drink can result in.

I don't wish to defend this stupid little boy who has gone off to uni to study a doss degree before he is old enough to look after himself without mummy, but I hate it when tabloid news tries to stir up an undue reaction over stories like this.

Im sorry but I dont think this is an 'undue reaction'. These things need to be brought to the publics attention, its disgusting!

Ok, im only 23 and yes i do 'binge drink' at the weekend and rightfully so, I work hard during the week and at the weekends I like to enjoy them. I dont go out causing trouble in any way.

This ***** obviously cannot control himself when he has been drinking, he knows exactly what he is doing, we all do when we are in that state, if we remember it in the morning is another thing.

This will certainly have bought him down to earth now and made him a national joke.

Serves him right

I think he knew what he was doing, but wasn't sober enough to judge that his actions where stupid and disrespectful. He probably never gives a thought to all those who have lost their lives. I doubt if they are taught about the great losses in the world wars at school anymore. I personally think that a whole schoolday (11th November would be good!) should be devoted to educating our youngsters about the horror of war and the sacrifices that where made and why it is important to remember and respect.

"Who threw that stone? C'mon, who threw the first one?"

The lad was an idiot. But I bet he knows just how much of an idiot he is now. Everyone in life deserves a 2nd chance.

I wonder how many of us have done something whilst under the influence we now really regret, and are deeply embarrassed about? And thank God we didn't get caught.

If the court reports show him to be a disfunctional muppet...fine, throw the big book at him.

But let's not demonise someone for a drunken prank, that now sober he may feel very remorseful for.

P.S. Am I being disrepectful? I know where I'll be, head bared, at 11am on Sunday

Very generous of you to assume the best in him, but my other half teaches modern studies, (read politics), in high school and believe me kids in general are taught the difference between right and wrong, and do know about WW1 and WW2, the sacrifices etc...

Numpty heed, pure and simple...

Alcohol again, i hate the stuff, the scourge of society.

Theres far worse things he could of done, ie beat someone up, kids are always messing about on these memorials, like the guy said the tabloids are trying to make is bigger than it needs to be again.

Yep he's a prat hit him in the wallet with huge fine and concentrate on the real problem.
