Anywho, back on topic!:

I have the HQ-1 and it is good quality, very light, nice and comfortable, the padding doesn't become loose quickly and it's quieter than my RAID and my AGV Ti-Tech.

Got mine for £100 or £120 in a HG sale and I nearly bought a second not so long ago when they were on sale again.

Oh, by the way, I like it!

I do indeed. This is my second and I bought it to replace the nearly new one that I head butted the road with. Despite a good old knock, I walked* away without even a headache (other bits hurt though!) and the lid looked good except for obvious impact area. So I concur with TLW on crash performance.

I have done 25K or more miles with the current lid, still fits well, wind noise is about the same as when I bought it (not great) and the vents / visor bits still work good as new. The visor change system is quick and easy too.

I plan on getting another and came close to getting one in HG sale recently.

*OK Hobbled into the ambulance...

I have this too, got it in blue as an end of line item a while ago in HG Glasgow for £149 down from £249 can't really fault it other than the vents could be better. I believe it only comes in raw carbon fibre now (lacquered!) and has a retractable sun visor now too, might be wrong.

Visor swapping is very easy with a clever sprung release mechanism.

If you have an XL head you can get the old coloured ones cheaply still.

The one with the drop down visor is the FS-10, a different helmet.

The HQ-1 is amazing, I crashed at 90 in it and was only mildly concussed- I did hit a kerb though, and it was a front end crash under braking, meaning it was a very sudden and very fast 5 or 6 foot drop to the ground - think Lorenzo at Donnington. I'd recommend and they get a lot of looks, because they're amazing. Size up a bit small though.

I had a Schuberth Concept, it was a bit big but I liked it. Had to change it after it hit the top yoke with my head still in it.
So I got a Schu R1, and noticed that I have to tilt my head back more than I did in the concept, which my neck doesn't particularly agree with.

How's the HJC on that front?
