Personally i'd be very tempted to go for a full on MotoX lid myself. I never think cycle lids are anything more than very, very basic protection.
Just my 2p ![]()

![]() An open face vented lid will protect the head from the forces generated in a fall from a push bike. Do bear in mind that push bike crashes are generally slower and have less force involved than a motor assisted vehicle. Most people do not often get above twenty MPH on the daily commute and those who do are at the fitter, sportier end of the spectrum. ![]() I have not yet come across any push bike helmets that can actually offer any real protection during a collision with a motor vehicle moving at normal road speeds. When being subjected to that kind of force, the helmet will offer damage limitation as opposed to actual injury prevention. ![]() Push bike helmets do have some of the same materials in them that you find in motorcycle helmets though, expanded Polystyrene is good for energy absorption through crushing, push bike helmets generally have a slightly thinner layer. ![]() Jump bike lids are designed to have a slightly higher amount of protection than a standard type lid and are often a little sturdier in their construction, so can with stand the bumps and knocks of falling off a little more. ![]() |
