Before you go too mad, I'd check the damp hasn't got to it. If it has been standing outside for ages and its been fecking it down with rain all the time its highly possible.
I think you'll probably find just squirting a load of wd40 around the plug caps will do wonders.
There is also a drain hole on the side of the cylinder to let the water run out of the hole the plug sits in and they tend to get blocked.

I'm not worried really. I'm stripping it down and doing the calipers and cleaning the carbs, repairing the tank, ditching the hugger and the undertray, changing the bars etc. Christ it'll be summer before that lots done. It'll probably have dried out by then!

Just to rub it in, my curvies haven't been started for three weeks. One has a knackered reg rec, so won't be going anywhere, and suzy I don't like to make her go out in rubbish weather. Well she roared into life this morning on the first button, not even any hesitation.... So ner to you lot sniffing at curvies!

Mine fires up first time every time aswell Infact, if I dont use it for a few days, it starts up easier normally

In all seriousness a bike should be able to sit outside in the rain for a week and fire right up. It's rubbish for keeping it looking new but if the bike's not starting, it's only showing up an issue that could have left you stranded somewhere

It was starting on one cyclinder and then sort of clearing itself but now its practically dead with teh faintest attempt at a single cylinder fire. So after the heavy rain and winds I'm convinced its just water in the tank worked its way into the carbs. All of which stems from the fractured overflow. If the weather would give me a break I could start stripping it down and see if my intended repair to the overflow is a good permanant one. Also it'd be nice to get it trhough an MOT and have a ride on it.

Well its definitely broke. I cleaned out the fuel bowls etc and put some fresh fuel in the tank but its still not working properly. It starts and idles but its pretty much only pulling one one cylinder. If you put the choke on it initially fires up and starts to rev but then dies again. I think its fuel starvation? Any ideas on what to check etc?

Main jetts definatly clear?
are the choke / throttle cables operating correctly?
Could the HT leads be breaking down under load?
Is the battery and rectifier good?
