Fook me, the ******* flies. Pulled out to overtake a car, came back in and glanced down to see 124mph on the dash. All this in 3rd gear too. Never did manage to get into fourth.

The handling was pretty sharp aswell. Going through corners i normally go through at what i thought would be ample on the SV the CBR was just saying 'MORE, QUICKER, FASTER, COME ON... I CAN TAKE IT' It seemed so effortless as well.
Isn't that the problem though. It's not as involving as riding your "underpowered" SV? How long before 124 mph becomes the norm and your speeds reach even greater heights in the quest for thrills?

You clearly are a talented rider, so I reckon keep the SV (or similar) for the road and go racing or track daying with an IL4.

The ninja might just steal it, should you try it, then again the 675 is a fantastic machine.

How often are you within the speed limits on the duke out in the country?

I prefer to have more useable power, sharper handling and better brakes as opposed to v-twin engine braking.

well i think the Ducati Hypermotard 796 has better handling, more usable power and great brakes from 1100s Hypermotard.
With the v-twin engine braking that helps and feels good.

Got your PM Ed. Much appreciated, what you say means a lot to. Bit far for me to travel for a go though. Maybe when we next meet for a ride.

For now i'll just pester the Triumph boys in Long Eaton.

I know some people that can't do massive miles on the SV let alone the CBR. I could happily go to the Alps and back on it.

But all depends on your persistence and nature to ache etc i guess.

Yeah, i think i will TBH. I enjoy it when people see a dirty little grime bike, then expect nothing from it, only for it to deliver some satisfactory pace. Grime bike has given me too much over the years to give up that easilly.

Going to treat it to a service this week to.

Looking forward to trying out some more bikes if possible though. Particularly the 848 if i can swing a test.
