No they're not I got mine for £165 brand new. Second hand/last seasons are bound to be cheaper.
Oh and I forgot to add the best thing about the TCX's.... comfiest boot ever! It's only probably true to people with slightly wider feet but every other boot I tried on I had to have like 2 or 3 sizes to big to get them on let alone be able to move my feet (alpines were the worst for this) the TCX's fitted in my proper size (11) and are so comfy I don't usually bother swapping into trainers at work and am yet to swap to trainers on a weekend away!

I’m looking for a pair of waterproof boots with good protection, preferably a little sporty looking, but not full on Power Ranger. I’ll be wearing them year round with textile trousers and jacket for the 20 minute commute in and out of work. Priced below £130 – ideally under £100 if possible.

So far I’ve come up with: Spada Slipstream, Sidi Black Rain Evo, Alipinestars SMX 4

Anyone any recommendations? I looked at the puma boots, and I’d be tempted (big puma fan), but I’d rather have boots which looked reasonable and did the job in an ‘off’ rather than cool boots which do sweet F.A. for my feet and ankles when it all goes wrong.

Cheers guys!
Hey Mikky,

What boots did you go for in the end? I'm thinking about the Spada's myself.

What size are you? My OH has a pair of Sidi Vertigo Gore Boots, Size 9 (43) that i was just about to put on ebay for him. They are in fantastic, as good as brand new condition, and he'd be happy to accept £60 plus £10 p&p for them, an absolute bargain for great boots. If you're interested pm me (or anyone else who may read this and be interested) x

Can I get first dibbs on them? I'm a 9/10, so will do a bit of research to see if they come up on the large size. Can I get back to you this evening?

I've just bought a pair of Spada Slipstreams, they're available at £54.99 on Ebay with free P&P.

Only wore them once, but initial impressions are good!

I'd recommend the Black Rain's - gave mine a coat of dubbin when new and I've never have wet feet. Comfortable too... Might want to think about getting a euro size larger than normal though, they aren't the biggest boots in the world.
