The man is a comedian, rubs so many backs up and those he rubs up don't realise they've fallen for it.

I think his arrogance is hilarious, and that article is merely stating the facts that many would be too wishy washy to say.

Dubai is a ridiculous place to live unless you are stupidly rich or getting paid a very high salary!

If you don't buy your own place, which you probably wont as it's fooking expensive, and end up renting, most landlords want a years rent in advance - and the rent is ridiculously expensive too!

The jobs they offer over there in my field are generally higher paid, and you get some sort of tax break (not sure if it's totally tax free) but the cost of living outweighs most of it!

Was out there on holiday a couple of months ago and am going to be taking a serious look at jobs out there. Yes - rent is expensive but this is offset by higher wages, it is very difficult to buy a property if you are foreign but taxes are very low and it is a country that rewards hard work, unlike the UK. Plus crime is a whole lot lower - my main abiding memory is being sat outside a shopping area and there being a very expensive BMW left with the keys in the ignition, engine running to keep the air-conditioning running with no-one inside it with no fear of it being stolen.

I suspect it's merely a lucrative act he's been refining for a decade (to give him the benefit of the doubt.)
