For **** sakes, the back of the pins are sealed (probably a good idea) , I'm thinking it'd cause more damage then it's worth to strip the wire? Suppose I could try poke the multimeter pin through the wire?
The reg/rec on the pointy is incredibly hard to get to

...and yes I have only just got round to doing it () Alarm wouldn't respond to the disarm button when I got to the bike, not sure if it was a coincidence or not but it started responding 5 minutes after I put it on charge. (although the bike started fine so I'm guessing the battery wasn't completely dead).
