No you don't get what you pay for, you can pay more for R+G that aren't as good

I recommend motosliders.

FWIW
I haven't used Motosliders, but my bike has had two sets of R&G which significantly reduced the damage, firstly for my son and then for me!

motosliders just scrape and don't bend. Maybe I'd show you what they do if I could get near my bike that has tried and tested them

I recommend them full stop. They are only made for the SV.

Exactly..the frame bent, as they are not mounted the way motosliders are.
Motosliders come on a replacement bar for the one that runs right through the engine. They grind down instead of ripping your frame into funny shapes, and you can replace the nylon bung things instead of the whole lot.

IMO they are far superior to R&G and shipped from the US cheaper than you buy R&G here. In fact you'll probably receive them quicker too!

theres also a leg shaped dent in his frame where the van crushed it, so the frame was going to bend anyway i think

I would say keep an eye on eBay if you're looking for cheap. Someone told me R&G are the real business, so I kept an eye on eBay and got some new ones for about £40.

Different sliders attach to the bike in different ways. My R&G ones came with a bar that went straight through the bike, and is bolted onto the bike several times each side for uber-secureness. But, I've also seen cheaper ones which just have a single bolt to hold them in place. I expect that the more you pay, the more you can rest confident in their effectiveness.

As far as I know, the actual sliders are ALL just really really really really compressed nylon, so maybe if you bought cheap sliders, and made your own R&G attachment-set-up or something?
