the oil drain has a crush washer which is different from a copper washer you can tell the difference the proper crush washer is flat on one side and humped on the other i think the plug been talked about is the oil galley plug

And did you have to work real hard at it?....just asking

ok, time to see the rabbit so to speak:

A - This is the oil drain bolt
B - This is cover I'm not sure of, so it has oil behind it but what is it's primary purpose in life?
C - Possible cause of the oil leak or maybe a little higher up the crank case, one thing i know it's not the clutch cover o-ring as I fixed that and that's still fine.

So what is B for apart from a spare drain hole?

Anyway, time to clean the bottom of the bike this weekend and break out the talcum powder.

No comments about the condition of the pipes

I dont think Zadar deserved that comment - he is the source of top rate information, and should be treated with more respect than that.

You can tilt all day alone but you will not get all oil out. When you see cases from inside you will know why.

There is no oil that can get inside C and leak out of its head unless cases are cracked.
B is just plug to close hole, that is all. Just like couple 12mm bolts to the left and right of oil filter, the ones with crush washers under head, they just plug holes used to machine interior of cases, galleries.
I am pretty sure your leak is coming from side cover or oil filter area. Clean, powder it and you will find it.

Red line shows how high in that bolt goes, you can't drain any oil bellow that line. Left is pointy and right curvy.
Blue line shows why plug is there. They had to drill through cases for oil gallery to feed oil to oil pump. Only way to drill case is all the way through and than plug hole.

Not exactly the oil gallery plug, it isn't under oil pump pressure. The main oil gallery plug is on the side.

Let's be honest you don't sound like the sharpest knife in the drawer insulting someone who unlike yourself has actually cracked a few engines open and has more'n likely forgotten more about SVs than I know.

And you come across as doubly friggin dense when you decide to insult someone who's giving you advice that might actually save you from blowing an engine to bits when you need to get the remnants of a f*cked clutch out of your sump.

Tard. Poster ignored.
