Indeed. Lisa bought a pair of xs and were to big. They are now mine and I bought her a pair of xxs. I would definitely go down a size than normal.

Heated vest. Warm core, warm extremities.

I'm not riding in the winter these days, but I did for years. I suffer from cold hands and feet, but riding in near-0c weather with my regular summer gloves and a heated vest I suffered no probs at all.

Was in the Coast Guard Aux in Canada (like the RNLI) and used to bomb around in a RHIB at 40kts in weather at/below zero and in rain and sea spray. Always had bare hands or light sailing gloves and had no probs as long as I kept my core warm (not too hard with a full floater suit on).

Heated gloves .... I've got heated gloves and jacket insert ... and the insert alone isn't enough ... infact, the warm body makes my hands feel colder !!!

I've got the biketec stuff (£125 gloves - £150 jacket insert) ... and I'd happily pay it again ..... its transformed winter riding !!

I've got Gerbing heated gloves, they do transform winter riding! Totally warm on the outside, sorts the whole of your hand and also then the biggest loss of heat that I used to get from riding. Only problem is, so far my left glove has a dodgy connection . I was thinking of sending it back to Gerbing, but I figured out that if I keep the harness wire straight it works ok, and I need the gloves everyday in this weather and can't be without them. Will they swap the harness and plug fairly hassle free?

Doesn't work for me. If my hands are warm the rest of me is warm. Does not work the other way round. But then I am not the average type of person. My hands get cold as soon as the temperature drops below 15 degrees.

Nick, the electrics are covered all the way through. You can replace any part of it if it breaks down. Only time they are not covered is if they have been crash damaged. I have a spare harness actually sitting on my desk right now. If you can meet me somewhere you are free to use them whilst yours gets replaced.
