When my eldest was in nursery school each child made an A4 painting which was then framed at cost by a local picture framer. The parents then bought the framed pics (i think they were £7) and the school kept the profits.

1; Make cookie jars.

You get a jar - free from a local company if you can.

Fill it with the ingredients for cookies - dry only - obviously!

Tie a ribbon around it and away you go!

2; Make Japanese paper bags.

Use wallpaper or patterned card to look like Gift bags.

Disco. Seriously, even if it's just for years 5 & 6. they'll all want to go and wear their sparkly Beyonce/boyband outfit, and pester the parents for tickets. When there, get them to pay out for drinks and sweets and stuff.
Beg/borrow/temporarily requisition a few coloured lights, find an amp and some speakers, spend a bit of time downloading crap pop onto some sort of digital device, and you're set to go, using the school hall of course.

Makes £500 an evening at our place!
