There is another one on the piece of casting which connects reservoir to shock, that is compression adjuster. It is a flat head screwdriver type adjuster.

Added another pic so you can see where the damping adjusters are. Its 335mm eye to eye. Spring is 81.6mm across.

I'm not sure if this is because I uprated the dogbones to give a more aggressive position before? Does anyone have any ideas and any recommendations for shocks given this information?

I'm on an 02 SV650 S with modified dogbones and I weight about 13-14 stone when riding with full gear . .

Hope someone can help and thanks in advance

Ant.!

I asked on SV rider and there is a guy on there with longer dog bones and a zx10 shock and he has no clearance problems.

That's a weird one. Can't see why there would be any clearance issue. Mine was very close but definately not touching. The bottom fork isn't the wrong way round is it? I don't even know if that it possible.
Raising the rear up would surely give you more clearance?

That looks like the same shock as I've got fitted on my curvy.
As Mr Speirs said should fit, close but no touching
The only Issue I had was the well documented issue on the bottom of the shock. The sv sock is threaded whereas the ZX isn't. You need to use the bottom bolt from the ZX shock. Also IIRC the mounting is not dead central so the bolt will foul the swingarm if fitted on way but not the other way

Hoping to fit mine this weekend along with an undertray. So if anyone has any fitting tips or hit any snags when fitting theirs I'd be glad to hear of them. I'll trawl the archives anyway, but if anyone thinks of anything they wished they'd known first please let me know. Ta.

Remove the connector on top of the reg/rec as it makes it easier to get to the bolt/nut on the top of the shock.

To accomodate the res I cut a playing card sized hole out of the battery tray right along the 90degree seam on the left (is you are sitting on the bike) hand side of the tray. I then built up the remaining tray til it was about 2mm above the res with stiff foam andrested the battery onto its side (it fits very tightly and doesn't move an inch) to do this though you will need to remove the tank bracket and hacksaw the old battery holding bit off and bend the remaining metal flat against the bracket, also you will need to free up the negative connection lead to reach the new location of the terminal remembering to keep the lead running inside the subframe. That way you don't need to cut into the seat.
Ive done 2 now this way.

Oh and remove the rear plastics.

and remember to order the kwak bolt for the bottom shock and fit it the opposite way to which the original shock was bolted.
