Just been thinking.... the pipe itself wont up the hp so im fine on that account. However surely i will have to up the main jets by 10% burning more fuel and therefore more hp??

Nope. I wouldn't bother. Where on earth did you hear that you need to up the main jets by 10%? It's just a slip on!

Only reason I can think you'd need to be tampering with jets is if you've cut a mahhooosive hole in the air filter and you have a race can fitted. One of mine is set up like this and can never be run with a unbutchered filter. Shes been on a dyno at Holeshot racing and jetted to suit her needs. It still doesn't give any more BHP.
My other SV has a normal slip on can with a removable baffle, standard air filter and standard jets. Theres never been a need or reason for it to have the jets fiddled with.

i dont know if this dyno needed recalibrating but my pointy is restricted to 33bhp and i have a scorpion stubby extreme and on the dyno it came in at 35.9bhp.

What make/type of dyno, some read higher than others. What you need is a before and after comparison, would it for example make 75Hp derestricted?

Dunno, would have to be a barsteward of a judge to do you for riding outside your license terms for a couple of hp, but damn sure the insurance company would use it as a good enough cause to not pay out.

Thing is though, if you had a bad one, they have to rebuild the bike to test it and restriction washers in the inlets (or restricted ecu on a pointy) should be sufficient proof or argument enough.

You takes your chances. I do, as I don't think it'll ever be an issue, and haven't had a dyno to check it.

Although i have just been given an akropovic slip on can that would fit my bike. This would solve my one complaint about my bike not being loud enough (loud pipes save lives!!!) just wondering if there was any way of restriction that would allow me to have a slip on. i was thinking maybe a washer inbetween the link pipe and silencer?? any ideas??
thanks very much

i ride a 33bhp stock k2, my friend rides a 33bhp k3 with a straight through pipe

tbh the difference is minimal, ive ridden his and the RPM just feels a little more "free" higher up, but your riding a v-twin, so you dont need all those revs

Edit:

and you dont need to re-jet, sv's run lean from the factory, and its the fuel / air mixture that produces BHP not drowning the engine
