I know what you mean, the curvy stand comes very far forward and Im confident that its going no where.

But I've started the pointy before with it on the stand then gone to put my lid on and had to drop the lid and catch the bike. It was pointing down on a very slight incline and vibrated its self enough to knock it off the stand. I've had ZERO faith in it since and I do intend to make it so it'll stick further forward.
I find myself returning to it with held breath if I leave it parked anywhere, despite ALWAYS leaving it in gear and rolled onto the stop. I think any knock/wind would easily have it over.

Just take the stand off and file the lugs on the bracket a little so the stand comes further forward. It's a 10 minute job.

It won't fall unless it's parked downhill. I do this regularly on my pointy - the path outside my gate is a slight downhill, and I have to leave the bike there with the engine running to shut the gate. It has never fallen.

I can't say the same about Miss Ophic's GZ125 tho. "Can I borrow your bike, dear?"... crash! I wasn't a popular boy that day. Being a 125, I couldn't even make a rapid getaway

You got the loose stand wobbles? Take off, clean all oily crap off, take off the arm and apply threadlock to the pivot bolt, tighten up to non-wobliness, threadlock the mounting bolts and tighten to specified torque. Checking the side-stand bolts is a service item and they are known to come loose. I don't have a problem with mine since doing the above.

If you are nervous of an SV sidestand, go have a look at an Italian bikes sidestand. Now that'll scare ya. They stand so upright one slight movement and they wobble like mad!

In fact you'll think the SV one is great in comparison
