He's pretty flexible with style. These are Yamaha Giggle,

others he's looked at were more along the lines of the Yamaha Aerox and Neo.

He's looked at various different peds, but would like to stick to Honda or Yamaha for build. He want's 50cc so he doesn't have to mess about with CBT and L-plate stuff. Speed isn't a key issue, as most roads will be 30 - it's for town commuting, but timing is an issue, as his necessity for one is near imminent.
I like that. Wouldn't have one though. I have a Honda Cub 90cc, for using for short journeys and if the SV is in a garage. It's only done 10700 miles since registration in 2002, most journeys under 5 miles. And I rag the hell out of it and have taken it off-road the odd time. It needs lots of oil changes due to having 1 pint in the sump, but it just keeps going.

If I recall, and this is hearsay, the main issue with 4 stroke scoots is the transmission. Check there is a way of changing the fluid, some are sealed and designed to last the life of the vehicle.

Just doing my due diligence now. Final drive oil is replaceable, and maintenance schedule is to replace at every interval. Thanks for the pointer, wouldn't have thought of that.

Dave, thanks for the offer - I think he really want's it yesterday, as mother-in-law changes jobs next week so it's get one quick or pleblic transport.
