Doesn't work so well if you get taken to hospital and the bike goes straight to the insurance yard.

Just declare everything, people worry about it for years, then when they finally mention it wonder what they worried about as the premium doesn't increase half the time.

Declare it all, the K+N is a washable replacement filter rather than a massive power adder.

Fact of the matter is most aftermarket stuff you change on the bike is actually cheaper to replace than the stock stuff. By rights the insurance company should give you money off.

Oh and I tell my insurance company all of the modifications. Can take quite a while when we are talking about the SV.

As everyone has already said you're better off telling them what mods you've got. I told my insurance all my mods including GSXR front end, paint job, Elka rear shock and Akrapovic full system and it made no differnece to my premium

Heh same here... I end up forgetting some halfway through, I'm sure they think my bike is a V6 "must be... it's got 3 full exhaust systems..."

Oh and apparently they can't put "etc" on the end of the list either

They also can make it more desirable... So more likely to be pinched.
