One of the butterfly valves is ECU controlled, so it won't move purely on the cable. Not sure what the problem might be though.

I didn't know the difference between running on one to running on both.
On one cylinder it really struggles and would cut out in tick over, you can hear it just sounds lumpy and a slow low growl. Then when the you raise the revs and the second cylinder kicks in it will change to a fast high pitch purr. There is a real change in the sound???? HTH

well in that case the all i can think of is the plug or HT lead, just one question, how the hell do you get at the plug on the front cylinder?

Undo the bottom of the rad so its held only on the top bolts and raise it forward. Then take your plug tool out your tool kit. It is hinged so you can get it in behind the rad.

It's a few quid for new plugs - mine were £15 for the two. Just replace them anyway.

right, changed the plugs, leads look ok but still not sorted.

Only really seems to be happening while hot and under load, ie setting off in first it seems to want to stall far to easy.. also at high revs it hits a sort of imaginary rev limiter and wont go any further.

Idle speed is also iffy when hot, sounds like its dropping and nearly stalling. At this point if i try to rev it it sometimes cuts out completly, almost like its being foded or something?

Any other ideas??

Blocked/dirty fuel filter?

When its cold its putting more fuel in, then when it gets hot, the fuel is backed off and the restricted filter is starving the engine of fuel?

Finally sorted!

Just so you know in case anyone has similar problems, turned out the be the rear cylinder HT lead (well the coil actually)
Got a set of 2nd hand off a sv1000 and runs like a dream now!

Tip though, its a massive ball ache getting the coil out, even worse with the front one!

cheers for all the help guys
