When I cut my brothers foot off just above his ankle (yes you read that right), he was in plaster for near on 2 years and had an extra 18" of swing on me with his crutch. Git was vicious and vindictive.

My Grandad has been a master of this art for years.

Can't see why they need training though.

'Raise arm containing walking stick'
'Lower arm containing walking stick onto yobs head as hard as you can'

I suddenly don't give a damn about the stick-ninjas and want to know about this as it sounds far more interesting...

What about why he was vicious and vindictive?

Simple, being the eldest lad in the family I was given the responsible jobs like, "make a start on mowing that field". The mower was the old fashioned set of reciprocating forked blades, there was a little jockey wheel on the end. He had come over to tell me the jockey wheel had fallen off but stood to the side whilst I drove past. Unfortunately I did not hear/see him until it was too late.

Fortunately my mother was an ex theatre sister and within a couple of minutes of me getting him back to home, she had applied a tourniquet to halt the bleeding and had him in the car on the way to the local hospital.

They didn't do much but dump him in a blue lights ambulance up to the local big hospital. It was a long time ago. He recovered well as I got through the bone/tendons but the foot was still hanging on and was stitched back.

OUTCOME 3 - Old dude whacks scroate with stick, resulting in serious/ life threatening injury..scroates parents complain, old dude gets into muchos trouble for assault with an offensive weapon...
Fair enough, but the only thing that wil have changed is that now the old fella may have a bit of an idea as to the best method to defend himself rather than swinging widly. Personally I'm all for it.

Yes, he should have been grateful, got him two years away from the penguins feeding us pig swill and telling us to think of the starving babies in Africa as we tried to keep it down.

My youngest brother unfortunately failed once, and they forced him to eat his vomit.
