Michelin Pilot Power 2CT

I have Pilot Road 2's. I can only really compare to the Conti Road Attacks I had one before (which I hated!).

The Pilot Road 2's heat up quickly. Yesterday on my two mile commute it was wet (the commute is 2miles..) I got home and the tyres felt warm. I find that they tip in to corners a little slower than what I would like but hold through the corner nicely.

No major complaints about them so far from myself! Just to re-itterate though - I have the Roads and not Powers.

My Dad had the powers on his R1 and absolutely loved them!

Richie. The Pilot Powers are a completely different profile to the Storms and Pilot road CT2's, Road attacks and other sport touring tyres. Comparison with them is poinless in a "Similarity" kind of way. Certainly you can compare the differences! The compounds are also different (obviously). They turn in quicker and have a larger contact area when leant over. They are very good tyres and you'll love them for plating around at the weekends. They will give the Sv a more sporty feel. A lot more flickable. They also give the bike a plush feel flattering te suspension.

I loved them. Great in the wet too but not the bet I've tried two up.

ive got them fitted to my sv, in the dry i find them superb, in the wet i tend to take it easy as a matter of corse but still yet to find their limit, i do a 40 mile round trip to work everyday come rain shine or snow, and trust them fully, the back is starting to square off, they've been on the bike over a year now, the front will probaly do another winter HTH

I ended up having a BT023 fitted. The guy has just left. As my front is a nearly new BT021. (save me some money)

When these die I will give the Michelin's a try.

Powers, Roads, Storms or what?

My Pilot Power 2CT's turned up at work today

Hopefully i will get them fitted tomorrow and can try them out Thursday

Well, today was my first time out on my bike in 6 or so weeks with my brand new PP 2cts and they are brilliant, from the word go they performed it feels like im really cranked over although i still have 2" chicken strips, ive only done 40 miles on them so far, mainly main roads and a few twisty back roads. Today was dry and warmish (although a few damp spots about) but i cant fault them yet, may get to try them in the wet tomorrow

I have the Power 2ct's. They gave me a massive confidence boost when I first got them, and offer great wet grip, but as mentioned are a little vague on feedback in the wet. I've had 2 sets now, despite people shouting about newer tyres. They don't last too long though, about 3.5-4 thousand miles!

As you said they also gave me a confidence boost, considering ive just got back on from my off.

Got to try them in the wet on the way home, didnt push them as it was mainly greasey and they dont really give much feedback, but no worse than what my D208's were in the wet, probably done 80 or so miles on them now, but so far loved every minute of them, especially this morning when it was dry and i suppose 8 - 10 degree's

What are you guys roughly paying for these. Rang my usual place this morning and quoted me £239 for ride in rideout.

Remember this is for my GSXR, so probably a little more expensive than SV sizes..

I have BT021's on my 600rr and I dont rate them one bit. No confidence in them and no feedback. They may be great for touring etc but they dont suit me or my riding style. I lost the front end at mallory under hard braking in the wet... may or may not have been the tyres, I dont know what caused it but I have my suspicions.

They have lasted forever though and still have load left in them. The tyre I had before was a dunlopD208 that came on as standard... they never got great reviews but were alot better than the BT021, they only lasted 2500 miles though.

I have just booked my bike in on the 10th to have Pilot Power 2CTs fitted.

Fizz I needed 120/70 17 and 180/55 17, I'm not sure what the 750 takes? possibly the same.

I have been ringing around alot to get the best price.

For the above sizes, to ride in ride out...NOT loose wheels, I got -

Midlandssuperbikes - £240 fitted.
MTS Nottingham - £250 fitted.
CMC Nottingham - £252 fitted.
Claycross - Cant get 2CT's... now Pilot Pures?
SPS Mobile - £266 but they come to your workplace etc

In the end I have gone for MTS Nottingham by the time I have got to MSB the extra fuel would have made MTS cheaper... and I need to be able to collect my old tyres easily as they still have 3k+ left in them.
