Matthew had nothing but bother when he used Bennetts. He went to Carol Nash in the end, might be more expensive, but at least you rarely find people complaining about them.

I suppose you get it with any company, was reading out Stretchies version of MCE last night to Peg, he couldn't believe his bad luck. So far hes used them twice in one day for breakdown one here, one near home(so thats nearly 150 miles apart) The first just got him going, but the second time the breakdown bloke took him a fair few miles to his local dealer, so he could pick up the courtesy bike they were lending him. As he'd already rung ahead and told them he had issues. He can't praise them enough for that.

He's been lucky compared to Dan then Lou. I think I can be pretty right in saying that in not even 1 phonecall out of probably 100+ phonecalls since setting up his policy, the claim, the complaint, changing it to the blackbird has anyone Dan has spken to there got his insurance details right. They've had him as close to tears in frustration as I think he could go when he was claiming for the last fireblade as they continuously PROMISED to call him back and never did. He always had to call them back and always had to go through every single detail as the last person he spoke to had typed the wrng info into the system.

I'm sure there are a few people that have had perfect service from them, but I can honestly say that your above post is the first positive one I've read about MCE.....good to know though.

I used Bennetts when I first got the Blandit that is was knock off 6 days later. The only issue with Bennetts was they did not permit modifications to the bike.

My real issues were with the insurer ERS, whilst they were prompt in their dealings with me, it was a battle of attrition, the bike was write off, I had paid a bargain £1900 6 days earlier and they offered £1300. When I quired the value, the silly girl said it was the Glasses valuation, really I have a copy in front of me and cannot find it. She then conceded that their assessor must have got it wrong, and revalued it at £1600 and I eventually settled at £2400.

They also argued about my uninsured losses particularly that I wanted full price on a 6 day old helmet, boots, jacket etc.

So Bennetts eventually send me my renewal at the end of the first year. No NCB despite my claim being no fault. I phone them and the girls says I will talk to the underwriter and phone you back. Oh yeah

She did, result renewal was reduced by 40%. but why had they not spotted it themselves.

Was with Bennetts although never had a claim, came to renew and found Carol Nash a better deal and had more for the money.

Although when I came to get my NCD they said I had 2 years when I had 3. They said I was insured 2006 - 2007 and 2008 - 2009, completely loosing my mid year ??? So won't use them again as they refused to even look at their records

They cancelled my insurance cos my no claims was really late by letter [ could have said pay more ]. as i was set up for a ride I rang and signed in a minutes wih carol nash,
Day after got a message I was OK with bennetts as my no claims had arrived ,explained they had cancelled so i was sticking with carol nash and would they refund nnever did get my last 80£ they claimed that it was me that cancelled.
I'd give up bikes before I would use em.

Bennetts were a nightmare for me
I made a claim and they really dragged their heels with paperwork and even more with payments.
When the bike was written off I thought it would be the end of it but sadly not.
They continued to renew a policy on a bike they had written off, took money from my account and only repayed it when I threatened them with the small claims court.
It took 6 months to get money back from them and they continued to send me renewals for the written off bike during the time I wanted my money back from them.
They pass on your bank details to 3rd parties to set up credit for you on your behalf without even asking you if you need it.
It got to the stage where I had to speak to them at least twice a week to sort out their own mess.
It all ended with me visiting their Peterborough offices and demanded to see a manager and watched while all my details were removed from their database.

I forgot to add that years ago I needed insurance on a frame number to get an enduro road registered.
The quote was about nine hundred quid as it was on a frame number only.
The muppet at bennetts told me that although it was high, as soon as I had the registration number they would adjust the policy to suit.
When I called back to get it adjusted I was told there was a £60 admin fee and a minimum of 3 months to pay before I could cancel the policy and start a new one.
I explained that I didn't want to cancel just change the bike from frame number to reg number and have the policy adjusted as I was told when I bought the policy.

The dumb bint on the phone told me this wasn't possible so I spoke to her manager and explained.
Again I was told this wasn't possible.
When I suggested that they listen back to the tapes as they record all calls according to them, I was told that they don't actually record all calls and that they couldn't help me further.

I know mce have had a slagging on here but I'm with them on both of my bikes and have had no problems at all with them.

Bennets were useless with me, charged me a fair whack to transfer from my 125 to the SV and wouldn't allow any mods at all without extortionate price.

I wouldn't use them again, there's a million different companies out there. Spend some time phoning around them as well as on the net.
