Barking mad they are!!
I was actually considering it against sprint st / tiger / f800s for my next bike.. Not anymore... For that kind of money you can have waaay better looking & perfoming bikes!
Hope they fall on their collective a*ses with that sort of pricing policy

I wonder if they're basing this on the popularity and success of the similarly overpriced YZF125?

At an equally wallet-melting £2999, it's highly sought after by learners and new riders who are sure people will think it's an R6 and fail to notice the tiny little tires and L plates. They also ignore all advice to 'just get a crappy 125 until you pass your test' and 'save your money because for three grand you could do your DAS and have enough left over for a 500 or 600 that will completely outclass tha YZF125 in every conceivable way'

Mummy and Daddy may not know that! They do look amazing (for an L plater), and when you're 17 that's all that counts.

Until it goes up the road... without you... on its side... and all the fancy plastic is smashed.

Like I said, Yamaha know this and hence all the ex pedbois want them.

Eight thousand pounds...

Honestly, it makes a £6000otr Benelli Tornado seem like an absolute steal. In fact, thats brand new Tornado 1130cc money...

I know what i'd rather have.... Bearing in mind I could buy a brand new 900 tornado, then haggle my ass off and get a Bandit too..... Or have 2 bandits, or a Kawasaki ER6N and a 2nd hand 1000cc sports bike.

Rediculas money!!!!!!

£7999 will buy you a new 675. In fact you'd prolly get it a bit less.

Fazer -v- 675. Hmmmm.

It makes some 3 year old used bike buys look like bargains against these new prices. £8-10k used to be the top end of sports bike prices in the UK but you can now add £2-3k to that figure. I'd much rather buy some used bike of a certain vintage to save cash.

I'd be reluctant to sell the Versys being such a good bike for just about everything, so I'd like a stablemate for it. Its not going to happen in a month of Sundays this year with all the costs I have but I could see it happening next year. I've got eyes on a few things which I'll have to try and wangle some kind of test ride from.

Based upon the price of the new Fazer thou's is this price honestly unexpected? Yamahas have always been in the higher price bracket, to some extent deservedly IMO given the quality of finish etc.
