Wow Bri, I bet that would have been a beautiful set of roads if you weren't scared silly...lol.
I am so so glad I have done so many miles as a pillion over the years as to me, leaning the bike right over in the twisties just seems natural and I think that helps a lot. Luckily I am not someone that really suffers from nerves and I can't wait to get out again tomorrow. Stretchie was funny when we stopped at Cheddar. He said, "I went through the twisties back there and looked in my mirrors to see you come out of them but I couldn't as you were right behind me already".......I had a grin from ear to ear. LOVE IT!!!!! Will be even nicer on the CBR when there's a bit more rubber on the road! |

My first ride was pottering around the airbase on which my parents live in Germany where I bought the bike in a vain attempt to get used to the bike. Three hours later I started a near 600 mile trip from Bruggen in Germany to Birmingham, UK. Hell of a painful first solo experience and not the most exciting!

1st 2 yrs of my biking life was in the Lakes. Autumn is the best time - parents don't take the kids out of school in the autumn so its mega quiet.

I had a pretty decent ride through the Vale of Glamorgan just getting my CB500 home, but my first proper ride on it was up the valley through Rhymney, then along the A465 to Neath, and then back on the M4. Was really long, my nose started itching and couldn't scratch it so my eyes were watering, my backpack wasn't tight enough and so was acting like a sail, I went rather too fast along the M4 and nearly got killed by some idiot in an Audi A3 trying to undertake me.

Hmmm....I've had a few Audi drivers be completely ignorant of the bike already. On my Mod 1 day, totally cut me up at a roundabout, but I could tell he was going to s I kept back and watched him swerve into my lane in front of me and today, a woman was in a 50 limit about 10ft off my rear tyre, Dan waved me past him so that she was behind him instead of me...what a gent!

My first ride on a motorbike was in a little feild. It was my cousins KMX125. I didnt know how to chane gear or how to pull away...he put it in second, pushed me off and told me to let the clutch out and just go
and it was so much bloody fun, from then, I've never looked back |

Thing I remember most about my first ride on the SV was catching my helmet chinbar on my shoulder - the riding position was that much different from the ER6 I'd learnt on. And being worried about so much power (
