going to check all the wires and connectors and give it a spray down the ign barrel, fingers crossed it is an easy fix!

If it is the ignition switch, I think they are the same as fitted to early Aprilia RSV Milles, might be worth checking out the prices of those if they are - it may be a cheaper part from Aprilia, but knowing what Aprilia parts supply is like, don't bank on getting one before Christmas 2013.

To chuck in my two pence.
It does sound like the ignition barrel that has a damaged connnection, but does the bike have an alarm/ immobilser fitted cos they can do the wierd and wonderful when they go wrong. I'm sure a friend had a problem with the battery draining and the dash going nuts when it saw fit and it was sheared wire on the imobiliser part of the wiring loom causing it
