Funny that, I've heard some bad stuff about No Limits, but done loads of days with them without a problem, done a couple of FE days and was seriously unimpressed with the attitude of everyone concerned and heard worse than I've experienced... but I have never heard a bad word said about Dave Mabbutt or Hottrax.
I've done a few with them and every one of them was a delight. The Soho posse did Silverstone with them in early 2008, and that was one of the best days I've ever had on track. I'm sure none of my fellow riders that day had any problems either. |

Only problem I had on FE day was lots of red flags as everyone kept launching themselves at the scenery. Not their fault that, the briefing clearly told us not to crash.
Hottrax day I base any negative opinion on is where they let 5 people bin it in the same place 1 after another before deciding to check for crap on surface. TBH I know I don't know enough to choose wisely. I will go FE again because I have a £30 credit note to use up... after that it is fair game and will go for who is cheapest on what day I want to go on. too much bullsh*t and fanboyism around like owt else.

Hearing something and seeing something are two totally different things. You said earlier that you'd 'heard' lots of bad things, and so far all you've given is this same anectdotal evidence. I've heard some bad things about No Limits, but on all the many trackdays I've done with them and attended supporting other people (probably close to 100 of them now) I've never seen anything that would give me cause for concern. I'd heard bad things about FE, and they were backed up when I did two days with them. Hottrax are the only ones I've never heard a complaint about from anyone who's done a trackday with them. |

Never had a problem with anyone of them. I did days through Hottrax, FE and No limits and I can't even remember which day was run by who!
From what I remember they were all pretty much the same. As for who throws it down the road - that's more to do with the riders than the organisers! |

Plus this bit: claiming the staff were rude and unhelpful, and that they had been prompted by Focused Events staff to stop using uktrackdays.co.uk and book directly with Focused Events instead. From same (your) source, which is absolute opposite to my (admittedly limited) experience. For a start when do FE (or anyone) staff have time to prompt people to do anything other than get on with the day? Article smells of BS and could easily be an attack on FE, since it provides no evidence. How many people on here are on FE mailing list... did anyone get an email slagging off uktrackdays? If they didn't then this article has no credibility and is worse than the hearsay and man-down-the-pub-said that you say I rely on.

By removing FE from their site and list, UKTD are losing one of their primary sources of income. No-one does that without a damn good reason, and to actually speak to a journalist who is going to put this kind of thing in print would be bloody foolish if there is no truth in the story.
FE have a few staff at their office who can quite easily and quickly compose an email and send it out to selected recipients - hell, even a IT challenged shortarse like me could do that in 5 minutes. I'm not on UKTD's mailing list nor am I on FE's, but I am on the No Limits and Hottrax ones and get regular updates on what trackdays are coming up. It woudn't take me long in the environment I work in to find someone or other who has received the FE email. Most of my mates and a fair few of my customers are regular trackday goers and I'm sure they get updates from FE regularly. I'll ask about |

"as a fee for displaying their dates," (wrt UKtradckdays income). So either UKTD was all honorable about it, or FE simply decided not to advertise on that particular site. (and UKTD possibly spat their dummy out over this decision) As far as I can see, so far there is no evidence to say either way who is right or wrong. But the fact that pretty much every statement on that article is attributed to UKtrackdays suggests to me that it is them attacking FE not the other way around.
