I've just taken out new insurance with CIA thanks to a quick search and this post. Saved some squiddles too. Thanks chaps.

MCE have a very bad rep on here, and I am no exception.

They still haven't sent me any insurance documents, I took out the insurance in September.

cheap, but for a reason.

No experience with CIA, but with my experiences and others, avoid MCE.

You need to chase that. Any docs I get from them usually turn up within a couple of days unless something's gone wrong. Plus they are really good at getting things in the paperwork wrong. Fine if you do what the small print says and check thouroughly but you can't do that if you haven't got them to start with.

Been with MCE a number of years they have Got the plate a digit wrong, got the alarm wrong, most anoyingly created a fictitious policy that started over a month before it should have (It took a long time to sort out but in the end I got a month of free insurance out of it) and once they managed to insure the wrong 2nd bike. This is on renewal/ bike swap not a new policy.

All sorted, and they were spot on this last year (Possibly because of last years fiasco) but chase those docs. They'll probably Email them if you ask.

Guess who's just insured with MCE

They've been very helpful so far and are not going to charge me for changing my policy during the cooling off period which scores high in my book and have no mistakes on the documentation.

Sally, you said they still haven't sent you the documents through, did you ask them to? I was under the impression I had to request a post delivery...

Peg had to change from Devitts to MCE this time, but he had a slight issue with a start one morning, the ignition had some dodgy thing going on with the switch. They were good enough to send out breakdown at my house, and they got it started.
Then 100 miles from his house(130 miles he'd gone) it did it again.
So for the second time that day they sent breakdown. This time the bloke packed his ZZR into the back and drove him to his dealership.

You can't really fault them for that.

Thats breakdown cover and the recovery company though, not the insurers, but sounds like prompt action from the insurance end.

I rang CIA again, re-confirmed all of the details. The chap that called me in the morning is the one I ended up with when I called them this afternoon He's going to call me tomorrow to arrange the final details.

£390 for both bikes, FC, protected, legal, etc.. Sorted It even means I can transfer D4MO B to Nelli without getting any charges

Yep....Stretchies initial policy was like that, all went really well with no mistakes. After having to claim.....well, they have not got one thing right since then, so as others have said, just stay vigilant and more importantly, stay safe

I'll just have to make sure I don't do anything that warrants a claim then lol. Changed it over now to the YBR with no cost, all gravy
